Time Magazine Features Online Poker Math Brats

For the June 28th issue of the Time Magazine, its author Dan Kadlec journals the “Attack of the Math Brats”. Making use of the image of the five youngsters which include Jason Lee.  In Kadlec’s cover story he filed back the old game of the previous years.

Released as a four-page article, it started with the UB.com poker pro Phil Hellmuth, who earn 11 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. Regarding with “The Poker Brat’s” the defeats in 2009 was told by Kadlec, “He blames the new breed of math nerd, those guys using a mountain of sortable data from the millions of hands played online to dominate the game”. As an excerpt from Hellmuth’s statement, “The reason I won 11 bracelets is my ability to read opponents. These new guys are focused on the math. And they are changing everything.”

The man of the DoylesRoom, Doyle Brunson was also featured.  The triumph of Chris Moneymaker was also touched by Kadlec.  Aside from poker pros, Kadlec also cover the rule of the Texas Hold’em that made him state a seven sentences explanation, “There are perhaps 20 key probabilities… that have guided every serious player for generations. The odds of hitting your hand haven’t changed; that won’t happen as long as a deck consists of 52 cards.” Successful coach David “The Maven” Chicotsky, who operates a Las Vegas poker school, candidly admitted, “If you’re not willing to go all-in with bad cards, you’ll never win.”
